Description:
The On-Site Facility Technician will be responsible for attending to facility and maintenance requests for six charter school campuses. Candidate will be responsible for ensuring effective and efficient day-to-day facility operations, managing maintenance, supporting building staff, working with 3rd party vendors, and communicating with property management.
Requirements:
• Must have a valid NYS driver’s license.
• 3-5 years of related experience preferred - mechanical aptitude and knowledge of equipment, including HVAC, electrical and plumbing
• Ability to operate a computer, including email and web-based programs.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to provide clear and concise details regarding building issues.
• High degree of attention to detail to perform facility inspections on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
• Ability to perform tasks with tools, ladders, and lifts in a safe and effective manner.
• Perform routine maintenance and timely repairs in the areas of painting, carpentry, plumbing and all related building components.
• Oversee vendor activities that include the scheduling of repair and maintenance needs as required. Technician must closely monitor vendor progress to ensure quality of work.
• Respond to and coordinate all emergency call activities as necessary.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to remain adaptable to change and take direction from others, including management, building staff, vendors, etc.
• Strong work ethic, with flexibility to work both independently and with other technicians.
• Strong prioritization and organizational skills.
