Smaller packs do weight substantially less (less fatigue), are more compact, and recharge faster, only down side is you have to walk over to place on charge and swap to a fresh pack a bit more more frequently as they hold less energy. Having as many as you need to get your tasks done is a fine solution.
Both hold charge between use.
