What is special about Logitech M185:
-- We will let you in on a secret of Logitech M185. Of all the Logitech general purpose mouses, 1xx series, 2xx series, 3xx series, and even some models in 5xx series, M185 is the best performing mouse, in terms of its operational longevity. This has something to do with the optical tracking system uniquely associated with M185. It is classified by Logitech as "Scroll Wheel: 2D, mechanical", unlike optical tracking system used in almost all other Logitech general purpose mouses. For a typical desktop computer user, what we really care is a tracking system's susceptibility to easy interference from hair and dust-particles picked up from daily desktop use. We had gone through many Logitech M525 and M325 (M325S) mouses over the years. After about 1 year of use, they would invariably start to have tracking issues. We used to think one-year is an acceptable lifespan for a Logitech mouse, until we started using our 1st Logitech M185 in 2020, and 2nd M185 in 2021 for two separate desktop computers. After 4-5 years of daily use, both M185 mouses have not developed any tracking issues.
