Full transparency; this is a Chinese replica of a Benchmade model 535 Bugout folding pocket knife. I buy some of these replica knives and as such tune then to usually better performers than you would get directly from their sources. I disassemble them, polish the liners, bushings, and the blade tang, remove any internal handle flash material that contributes to an off-centered blade, correct the non centered blade, correct the pivot tension so the blade is smooth and free opening, reassemble the knife, and lubricate the mechanism with Benchmade Blue Lube knife oil. The result is a knife that exhibits many of the characteristics of the original at a fraction of the price.
I have 2 of these knives left. 1 Blue model with ball in cage ball bearings for $35 and one black handle model with standard brass bushings for $30. I'll sell the pair for $60.
I do these mods as an addition to my hobby servicing pocket knives, doing battery changes in quartz wrist watches as well as some other minor watch repairs, and other DIY projects that help my old hands in mitigating arthritis. I buy the knives I mod from some of the same sources you might and just offer the service barely breaking even on the knife after I purchase it so my prices are firm. Thanks for reading and regardless of whether you to reply or not, good luck to you during these difficult times we're in and take care.
