This 2005 altima, with 2.5 liter I4 151K miles is going to the crusher. The automatic transmission finally kicked the bucket, ending this moby dick Nissan project for me. If anyone is working on a similar gen altima and is interested in parts, there were many items recently replaced, all four brakes and rotors. fuel pump, ipdm, exhaust, valve cover, spark plugs, and various sensors.
Components that are have not been replaced are usually in suboptimal to end of life condition, listed below:
The engine is not far behind the transmission, runs strong but the water pump is so aged that it has stressed some internal gasket, causing a very very slight leak from the coolant system into the combustion air once the coolant temperature is near boiling temperature (accompanied by a P1xxx or something check engine code). Other things that are very weak, battery a few years old and still works, one pair of wheels with winter tires with about 9 months of moderate wear left.
If you have any particular parts (eg, doors, glass, ipdm/er, fuse box relays, rims/wheels, headlights, tail lights, etc) lmk.
It is going to the scrapper in about two months. I'll take scrap price ~$400. For someone who has use and can part out the good components for use on their project Nissan car this would be a good opportunity. For others, not so much.
