Facilities Maintenance Technician (Part-Time, Seasonal with Potential to Continue)
Palmyra, NY (must live within 20 minutes)
Season: March 1 – September 30 (may continue based on flexibility and available work)
Hours: Start at ~10 hours/week, increasing up to ~20 hours/week as workload grows
Schedule: Weekday daytime availability required (hours vary by season and projects)
We’re seeking a skilled, dependable Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team. If you have strong hands-on experience in plumbing, electrical, and general property maintenance, we’d love to hear from you.
This role can be a great fit for a retired or semi-retired tradesperson who wants to stay active with flexible, part-time work.
Important: You must have your own truck and tools. Reliability is a must.
After-Hours/Emergencies
Candidates must be able to take occasional emergency calls. We do not get many after-hours emergencies, but availability “once in a while” is required.
Key Responsibilities
Perform plumbing repairs (pipes, hot water tanks, toilets, tubs, faucets, etc.)
Handle electrical troubleshooting and minor repairs
Conduct minor roof repairs and maintenance
Perform carpentry, painting, drywall, and flooring work
Complete small stove repairs (ignitor or coil replacements)
Safely use ladders for elevated work
Lift and transport up to 75 pounds
Respond to maintenance requests and occasional emergency calls promptly
Requirements
Proficiency in plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance
Experience with small stove repairs (ignitors or coils)
Ability to climb ladders and complete minor roof work
Able to lift up to 75 pounds
Must have own truck and tools
Reliable, professional, and self-motivated
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
