This is my Dual 1249 turntable from United Audio. I purchased this unit brand new at least 50 years ago and has been very well taken care of. When we moved in to our house I set my turntable on a shelf close to the wall. I made a mistake and the shelf I put it on was on small wheels, there was no backing to the shelf. While my wife was dusting her hand bumped the shelf, it rolled backwards and the unit fell off the shelf but not all the way to the floor. She picked it up and sat it back on the shelf. When I came home from work I was going to put an album on but noticed the tone arm was bent, and then she told me what happened. Accidents happen, so I looked for a place that repairs them. As you can see, between repair and service it cost me a pretty penny. After getting it back I lost my room to set all my stuff up so it's been in the box ever since. Today was the first time taking it out. I plugged it in and it works like it should but couldn't listen to an album, she has to go through a receiver, which I already sold. There is no dust cover, manual or the big spindle, just the short one. The last time I had an album on the stylus sounded just fine. Sorry about the story but I believe it should be known.
