Vintage Motorola antennas. Unsure if still being made.
Removed from service in working condition, that was many years ago, not used since.
Suitable for scanner use, receiver, or transceiver. Can be used in stationary location
where other antennas would draw unwanted attention from neighbors, HOA's, etc.
These are field-tunable. There is a lock nut and adjusting screw to tune to specific frequency for optimum results if used with a transceiver. If used with a receiver, likely not notice a difference over a broader frequency spectrum. Has SO-239 Connector which appear to have a teflon insulator, direct connect to PL-259.
Was used in railroad service in the 159 to 162.0 Mhz range (a national allocation basis, poss Canada too). Close enough for NOAA weather broadcasts as well. It can likely be tuned to other portions of the VHF-high band, I have no other specifics to share.
For scanner use will cover the entire VHF high band.
These are installed with a silicone sealer for exterior use so not any big deal that the weather cover largely intact with a couple of minor defects near mounting holes, silicone sealer will handle covering this. Can be used in interior applications too, unlikely to injure any one as there is no pointy end as with typical antennas.
Photos are of actual items.
Great to mount on a vehicle if you are in and out of ramp garages.
I am told this was rated to handle 100 W, I can not confirm that, but the system it was removed from was in the 30-50 watt range. Most vehicle antenna can generally handle 100W.
