We are downsizing our small collection of Life and The Saturday Evening Post magazines. They are all full of interesting advertising of days of old (about 1/2 of the 200 pages) including Tareyton cigarettes, Vitalis Hair Tonic, Hartmann Luggage, Country Club Malt Liquor, Old Gold Cigarettes, ranch-American Spaghetti,…and many articles of interest in 1955 including: Wedding of the Year, Brooklyn Rolls, The U.S. Rocks (1955 World Series Winner), Old Style Labor War Explodes in Indiana, links to complet the NYS Thruway, women’s clothing of the times, Broadway’s Big Beginning, Cold War Starts at Potsdam (Trunman), ….
I think it is the full color ads that are the most interesting.
