In December, 1994, Decipher put out one of the earliest trading card games. Issued just one year after the first Magic The Gathering release in 1993 and predating Pokemon by two years, this COMPLETE set of 363 cards is the Alpha version of the white-bordered set. It followed the November 1994 release of the black-bordered cards.
In 1995, Decipher reissued the white-border set with the 1995 copyright line. These cards all have the 1994 copyright line.
The last four sales of this set on eBay are averaging $130.
The set is broken down into equal numbers (121 cards each) of RARE, UNCOMMON and COMMON cards. All 363 cards are present.
The cards appear to be MINT (some may be technically NMT-MT) and unplayed, and every card is in a penny sleeve. They appear to have gone straight from booster packs to sleeves.
Booster packs of 15 cards contained 1 RARE, 3 UNCOMMON and 11 COMMON cards. A TON of product had to be opened to put this together.
I have imaged the top of the set box, and ALL 121 OF THE RARES.
Break value, if you are into that, is substantial. If you are into professional grading, I see numerous PSA 9s and 10s here.
Let's meet in a public place in the Greece area. A good warm and dry place at any time of day, to view the cards in this weather, is the 24-hour lobby of the Greece Post Office on Latta Rd, west of Wegmans.
