✨ Vintage Lane Cedar Chest – Restoration Project ✨
🪵 Authentic Lane Cedar Chest (Altavista, VA) – Style No. 48668S, Serial No. 120430. Known as the “Hope Chest”, Lane made these from the 1920s–40s. This one even still has the original moth insurance tag inside!
📌 Condition:
• Solid cedar interior (smells great & naturally repels moths)
• Exterior shows wear & scratches
• Missing one leg (currently propped)
• Screw marks on the lid – looks like a cushion or something was once mounted
• Lock present (original Lane locks on older chests were recalled – can be replaced for safety if you want)
🔨 Perfect restoration or repurpose project – sand, refinish, or add a padded cushion top and bring it back to life. Makes an amazing coffee table with storage once repaired.
