Hi, I'm a college student going on leave after this semester. This is a fairly sudden change in plans for me, so I am doing some last-minute scrambling.
Here's the deal... I'm just now applying for jobs but don't have one currently. I am also living in Brockport right now without a car. So, I can't really get working in the city until I live there, and no one will rent to me until I have a job. A real Catch 22. I also have one very cute cat who seems to get super-cuddly whenever I start thinking about giving him away, so yeah, he's with me for keeps.
What I DO have that's good are some savings. That's where you come in... rent to me for a month or two while I look for work, and I'll pay it up-front. Ideally, I'd like a studio to myself, but I'm not totally against a roommate situation. Roommates would have to be in the 20s or early 30s (I'm 27), preferably female, and kinda quiet. The cat doesn't care, he likes all people and pets, except rowdy dogs, who he'll just hide from and not bother with. The areas I'm looking at are Park Ave and Southwedge, but my need really is just to live someplace that's safe and has good bus access. My budget is in the area of $300-$550, and I'd like heat to be included (but again, not a deal-killer if it's not). If it works out all good, and I like the place, I'd probably sign a longer lease and stay at the end.
Trust me, I'm not a deadbeat. I've been renting for 3 years now in Brockport and for a little while in Rochester back in 2004, and I the whole last week filling out job apps, sending resumes, etc. One guy almost gave me a job on the spot on Park Ave, but couldn't because until I move, my availability isn't good enough!
